Little Extras

We have tried to provide for all your needs during your holiday at Monte da Quinta. To make your stay more enjoyable, we also like to offer you a few little extras.

Guest Welcome Hamper

Compliments of Monte da Quinta a welcome hamper awaits you. It includes:  Monte da Quinta: homemade scones/biscuits and preserves, honey from our bees and our free range hens eggs. Bottled water, Alentejo wine, freshly squeezed orange juice, local sheep’s cheese, locally baked bread, a savoury snack, butter, milk, tea, locally grown lemon tea, coffee and sugar.

Initial sundries: candles for the dining terrace, bin liners, liquid soap and toilet rolls, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets and kitchen cleaner.

For short stay reservations (3 nights) we provide initial sundries, an Alentejo wine and bottled water.

Savory Suppers – Petiscos

We have a choice of two simple suppers available for our guests to pre-order. An ideal way to just relax upon arrival at Monte da Quinta, or maybe you are returning from a day of exploring. Our suppers are a variety of typical Portuguese small dishes to share.

Planning Something Special

Perhaps you have an occasion to celebrate during your stay, or simply want to say ” I love you”.  We can put together one or all of the following: champagne on ice, a box of quality handmade chocolates and a bouquet of fresh flowers.

We offer a Loyalty Discount to all our returning guests. This discount is also extended to their friends and family.

Towels and Bed Linen

Fresh 100% cotton linen and towels, this includes pool towels for the use at Monte da Quinta only. We use European duvets during the cooler months. Weekly housekeeping and linen change included. All towels are replaced mid week.

Beach Towels & Cool Box

We have beach towels and a cool box for hire, at a daily rate of 2 euros each per day.

Anyone for Tennis

We hire tennis rackets and balls at a daily rate of 2 euros per racket. Our local court is within 5 minutes.

For Babies

We have a babies cot complete with cot linen, two travel cots/playpens, a high chair, and a bed guard for a single bed. We are happy to provide these items at no extra cost.

For Children

For your entertainment the farmhouses have a selection of DVDs and Satellite free-view channels, as well as books, board games, toys, puzzles, pens and paper. We also provide night lights for the children’s bedrooms. We have Boules sets for children & adults, as well as buckets, spades and sun shades for a day at the beach.

Farm Produce

Various seasonal produce including: Our fresh hens eggs, olive oil, oranges for eating and juicing, figs, pomegranates, tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, chillies and our golden honey. Our home made Marmalade is made with seville oranges grown in the groves at Monte da Quinta.

First Aid

We provide a first aid kit for each house. We also provide location details for the local pharmacy and the accident and emergency centre, both are within two minutes drive and are open 24hours a day.

Hay Fever and Asthma Sufferers

Please be aware that the month of May is harvest time in Portugal. We advise that you bring adequate medication, although there is a Pharmacy within Castro Verde. Monte da Quinta is a working farm therefore  we do have livestock such as goats, small pigs and Shetland ponies. The farmhouses and immediate grounds are completely contained and separate from the livestock and their paddocks and housing.  Our non chemical pool and unpolluted air is a big bonus and commented on by many of our guests.
